We were appointed to design a new 25-bed inpatient surgical unit in the Vale of Glamorgan for Vale Healthcare on the site of a former mental health facility. The unit has two state of the art ultra clean digital theatres and specialises in orthopaedics.
The site is in a rural location adjacent to Hensol Castle, a Grade 1 scheduled monument. The site adjoins a large lake and has complex ecologcial issues. We have worked closely with the Welsh Assembly and Countryside Commission Wales in order to address bat and newt licensing issues.
