Kendall Kingscott were appointed by Wiltshire Council following a process of competitive interview between framework providers. The project forms part of the wider Transformation Agenda that has been approved by Wiltshire Council. Part of this programme involves the formation of new locality campus sites that will serve all the local board areas within the county.
In the case of the Tisbury Campus this saw the provision of the following services on a single site: Sports and Leisure, Sure Start, Business Incubation, Library services, Neighbourhood Policing and 16+ education. In addition Tisbury Campus contains provisions for a local pre-school provider to be accommodated on site.
The scheme involved a mix of refurbishment and new build. Much of the accommodation used the former Nadder School buildings. The main new build addition is a 4 court sports hall.
The existing fabric was upgraded to provide improved thermal performance and all existing glazing was replaced. The site had no main gas services and therefore a Biomass heating system was used as part of Wiltshire Council’s wider sustainability policy of ensuring that the carbon output of the new Campus portfolio achieves a saving of 40% over the current benchmark gures.
